WB Metro (WIP)

based on the popular metro UI

Hello everyone,

 

I've been getting kind of frustrated with my last WIP, ClearGem (even though it's close to being finished), so I started a new project. I've always liked the GUI of Zune software as well as the new Windows phone UI. This inspired me to create a theme, based on the Metro style. It's very simplistic, but usable. I feel like I'm off to a good start with this one, I haven't come across any problems yet. However, it's probably going to be a while before I finish it - I've been working on ClearGem off and on for about 8 months now.

Here's a preview, I would appreciate some feedback from the community. Thanks!

Looking good G3    Can I ask how you got the setup on the right side of the screen there?

I made some major changes already (as expected...). I think I like this version better. Should I make the taskbar white too? or leave it dark? Also, what else could I do to the start menu? It seems too simple...

Looking pretty cool so far! What about a dark version and a white version, I don't know how much work that is though? Or what about just a bit of the color just on the right side of the start menu?

Yeah, I'm willing to do a light and dark version. Mostly because I'm in no hurry to finish. I just don't know whether I should use a white taskbar with the light version.

Great idea about the start menu! I could have white fading into pink or orange.....I think that would blend nicely. Thanks for the help Karmat! You're truly a master of desktop design so I'll take your advice anytime!
