Attention Windowblind Skinners!

A cool new tool!

This is a must have for anyone who skins Windowblinds! This nifty little gadget will enable you to make the taskbar flashing button appear at will. There is no need to be online with someone else in a chat window just to see that button flash.

Just click it and a tiny window appears on your screen, along with an active flashing button on your taskbar.....and it stays put until you activate the tiny window or close the gadget!

This little gem was created by sViz, and you can get it here: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/desktop_gadgets/143/

Thank you so much Eve, you're the best!

I remember posting in another thread about this, but it bears repeating.  sVis and LadyX are a dangerous combination. Stuff happens when that happens. I should dl it just to watch it light up the task button I don't have yet. Rock on you guys.

Seems to work great the first time you run it, but after that it does not show the flashing button, just a regular button.  Windows XP 32-bit.  Will only work again if I reboot the PC.  Any ideas?  :S

I'm on Vista so I can't replicate the problem. Have you tried running in compatibility mode and/or as administrator?

I'm getting the same thing in XP... Hopefully sViz can sort it out. I'm thinking that maybe the DX code needs to be written differently for XP, but I know nothing about coding, I'm just guessing.

I was so giddy about this new toy, that I didn't even test it in XP ^_^'   Sorry Eve!

It works perfectly in W7.

I looked into the problem and it seems it will not work on XP; that OS simply behaves differently. So, unfortunately, this will be Vista and Windows7 only, and the friends flashing friends will continue on XP.

Bit of a crapshoot, I suppose.

All this got me thinking if WB should come with some sort of Test feature, to test the various elements without having to apply the whole skin.:maybe:

SKS actually has one that shows quite a few of the controls...buttons, progress bars, etc.

I don't mind applying the whole skin, but there is another place that can be a pain to test....the Task Group Menu. There may be more places that a mini tester would be useful, I'll think on it a bit and if anyone else can think of one...
