[Solved] Icon Packager

Since Latest Update

I have always used icon packager to remove the little shortcut arrow on desktop icons but, with the latest update It shows  that it changed it but all the icons still have the arrow on them .

Any Suggestions?

Edit: This seems to have corrected itself after 2 logoffs and logons

I don't think that feature has been available for some time. I use this on Vista and Win7, don't know if it works on XP. Link  It works well and does a lot more than just remove the arrows.

Notes: It will say you need to restart your computer to apply the changes but all that is needed is to log off and back on again.

You will need to run it again to remove the arrows if you change icon packages.

For Windows 7 x 32 and x64 (and Vista too), go to this linked site and download the simple utility at the bottom of the page.

I couldn't get the Vista shortcut overlay remover to work on Win7. If you can, let me know how. Btw, it also links to the app I linked to, UWT.

Worked just great for me just now, Wiz. Look at Update 2. Try uninstalling the copy you have, and try the above link. I'm on 7x32...but it says it works for Vista, 7x32 and x64. You can get the UWT there too (as you pointed out).

I could not get the Vista shortcut overlay to work on Win7 64bit but there is a blank icon in the Program file Frameworkx that the app creates and I just assign that blank icon to the shortcut overlay in Icon Packager.:meow:
