What does "Real Time" mean for Sins?

I'm a longtime 4X (Civ, GalCiv, etc.) fan, and looking around for a new game to enjoy.  I've heard a lot of good stuff about Sins, but I don't really understand the gameplay description.  How does "RT4X" actually play out?  Is the real time aspect more like the frenetic click-fest that accompanies Starcraft and similar titles?  Or is it more like the "strategic" real time gameplay of Europa Univeralis 3?

A related question - are there any "After-Action Reports" or similar examples of gameplay floating around on the forums?

Of the 2 listed games I would say it's closer to Starcraft 2 but runs at about 1/6 the speed at the fasted settings. If you want to try the game and see if you like it there is a demo you can download.

There are some AAR's around somewhere if you run some searches you should find a few.

It's an RTS for people who don't like clickfests.  I, too, am a long time 4x fan and I love Sins because it dramatically reduces the amount of micromanagement.  Unlike your average 4x, Sins doesn't become cumbersome with boring micromanagement once you have a large empire.  (After a while it gets boring governing 15 cities and telling each city exactly which square to farm, telling the engineer units which square of land to improve or where to build a railroad, etc.)  Sins also offers online multiplayer against real human opponents in case you get bored with the AI.  (Your average 4v4 or 5v5 only takes 1.5 hours to play online.)

I would second the recommendation to try out the demo (just keep in mind the game does have a learning curve). For an RTS it certainly isn't that much of a click fest, though you do have a lot of things to keep track of in real time. I should mention you can give orders while the game is paused (in single player), which some of the other people coming from GalCiv have liked.

If you don't mind a fairly amateurish take on the game, this might be both helpful and amusing.
