The only way as of now to get a resource outside of your influance is to create another city.

Yeah that's the only way. Unless your city grows large enough to get into your zone.
Thx,but it's too bad that we could not send troops and plant a flag and build fort or something like that to stop having cities everywhere
Post-update, your lvl 1 cities will effectively be forts, though they will still cost 1 food to create (which I think is realistic enough)
You can upgrade if you choose, or not.
Honestly I did not think that way so thx and I will do that.I guess being used to Civ I always build the city up.Now I will name the city fort whatever name and leave it at lev 1 thx.
