When I try to update a game, it says it cannot find the servers, so goes to offline mode. However, I can still access the "Explore" page to look at new games. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening. I thought it might be due to a firewall issue, but my roommate has no problem updating his games. Ideas?
Make sure you do not have security software installed that may be blocking the connection. Adding exceptions for Impulse.exe is a good place to start.
Make sure your system time and date are set correctly. Also, if you have proxy information entered into Internet Explorer, Impulse may be trying to use that. To make sure there are no proxy settings that could be interfering:
In XP, go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet Connections -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings:
In Vista/7, go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings:
In Impulse, click the blue menu button and go to Preferences
