Getting elemental in China

So, I've been curious about this game since well before its launch.  But I'm currently working in China and Impulse seems to have problems with me making a purchase from here.  Btw, before you ask, I'm a US citizen, not a Chinese software pirate. :P

I have a couple of questions, perhaps someone who's navigated these waters before.

1. Is there any way to actually get it and download it from Impulse

2. Assuming #1 won't work, if I just got someone to buy a copy at walmart and read me the serial number, will I be able to download it from Impulse that way?

3. Assuming fail on #1 and #2, If I get someone to buy me a copy and walmart and mail it to me (kind of a PITA though) will I be able to patch the thing?  Not being able to is clearly a non-starter.

you could add 4 take a holiday to australia, and buy in a eb games store, BUT that would be even more expensive, ie the airfairs and accomodation,

 but in your list of three #1 needs communication with sales@stardock.com, #2 should also work as long as the person that purchased the game does not install it in their computer, as should #3, as far as patching, the biggest issue is internet connection reliability and speed ie if dialup FORGET it, if wireless broadband on mobile phone networks, find a location that has 4 or 5 signal units, and does not change the connection type every few minutes, then should be ok otherwise frustration, and of course the adsl/adsl2/t1 type connections should have no problems beyond isp/trunk issues, but as I am NOT in china I can not accuratly answer your issues with local knowledge

I'm just worried I won't be able to download through impulse.  Has anyone done that from a territory like China? I guess I will contact them next - their support/help area was kind of sparse.

I'm currently in China. It works. When in doubt, use a VPN server located in the US.
