Two technical questions...that I don't know where to put.

First, how do I get crash data for this game so I can submit it to stardock?

Second, I get to turn 558, or something, click end turn and nothing happens it just sits there, doesn't crash...it just sits there.

Third, ok, so I lied I had three  :) , Why can the AI build cities RIGHT next to each other, but I can't? I mean I just took over a level 4 town from him and not three spaces away there is a level 5 town and I can't build anything because I am too close...why can he and I can't?

Re crash data, see Cari's How to report a problem thread for detailed info.

Re a game lockup, that's also a problem worth reporting, although I doubt you'll get a crash dump after you force it to close. I'm pretty sure you're in a group of users getting related problems, and if the devs haven't fixed it yet, another data point (debug.err) might be helpful.

Re the too-close-citities, that sounds like something you should report along with a save file and maybe a screen cap. If you're seeing it in multiple games, methinks you've found a bug.

GW covered where to get some help, but as to the City issue. Both level 4 and 5 cities are quite large. If you look at the city centers they will very likely be well away from one another, thus allowing for their original placements and subsequent growth.

Since City boundaries can not overlap, but can grow towards each other until butting up against each other, it is likely they did not start out 3 space apart and then grow.

Can you put up a PIC of those two cities for demo purposes?

how do I get the pic? print screen didn't seem to work, either that or it saved it somewhere where I don't have a clue?

Oh, and the game doesn't lock...I just have to go to my transport and move it, autoexplore with this particular transport isn't working and so the game waits for it to move....its odd. After i move it, the turn ends and I go on.

With regard to the city spacing - I had an odd event occur in one game, i was building two cities next to each other in order to contain an AI nation.

Suddenly i could not add any more buildings to one of my cities! To the best of my knowledge this is what caused it... There was an ancient library in between the two cities, as soon as that ancient library got harnessed, immediately one city lost the ability to have any new buildings added! I counted the distances, no building in the frozen city was more than 4 tiles away from the ancient library.

Thats right, from the way I understand it you cannot build within 5 tiles of another city.  Once that "wild" library, or whatever, is linked to one of the cities you cannot build toward the other city any longer.  I understand that, what I am talking about is I have an AI player that has MASSIVE cities within 1 or 2 spaces of each other.

I will confirm having possibly seen this myself.  In the game before my current one, I seem to remember Irane having a pair of cities within 3 or 4 tiles of one-another.  I'm currently doing a Fan-Fic thing with my current game as inspiration, but if I happen across it again, I'll be sure to take screens, create a new Save File, and send that all on over to SD.  I'll also post the screens here for your viewing pleasure.

If it weren't for my current project, I would happily start a parallel game just to spam turns and witness the event, but it's taking all of my effort and focus to do this project, so I can't afford to split said focus.

Edit:  Well, okay, I can't afford to split it between both Forum-cruising AND playing two concurrent games.

If it works the same these days, you should find caps in your Documents\My Games\Elemental\ScreenShots folder.

If that's not working at the moment, PRT SCR should also copy your display to the system clipboard so you can open something like MS Paint, use the Paste command (menu or CTRL+V), and get the cap that way.

I'd test the in-game functions for you, but my copy of Elemental is apparently peeved that I've given up playing until 1.1 and it won't launch properly any more.
