Play a slower game. They will kill each other. Lock the teams and sit back.

Made a map once so I could watch the AI's battle.

36hrs non stop later when I came back to my computer all but one was left. Go TEC!

The problem is that the AI is an inept attacker and basically can't take down starbases.  The TEC AI will eventually build up enough Ogrovs to do it, but the others will literally keep building new fleets to meet the same fate as the old.  Given enough time one might break the others by attrition, but at the unfair difficulty it's unlikely they'll ever run out of money, so an eternal back-and-forth is more likely.

yeah the AI doesnt generally do to well on multi-star maps if they're anything lower that hard. I find on hard they seem to do quite well :S but then at other times they are totally useless

Agreed about the AI not being as effective on multi-star maps... for one thing they don't seem to expand past their home system for quite a while. I played a 5 star map against hards recently. Until 4 hours into the game they wouldn't even try to colonize anything in the three unoccupied systems.

Play on the slower settings. Like slow income, slow tech, etc etc etc.

I like stupid long games. And Ive found the AI does alot better. *Shrugs* maybe its just me.
