Fences - "The memory could not be read

Fences installed for over a year. Suddenly it started erroring today.

"The instruction at "0x7c936a76" referenced memory at 0x00000000". The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the progam."

The app actually looks to be working properly and does not appear to terminate when I click OK.

I have run numerous tests on my ram and it tests good.  What can cause this?

What did you use to test your RAM? Memtest86+? Make sure that you have let it run a few passes before calling it good. Have you been getting this error with any other applications? Try verifying the application through Impulse.  If you need to, you may download Impulse here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe .  Once Impulse is installed it will give you the option to create a Stardock.net account if you haven't already.  If you already have an account, but forgot the password, Impulse also will give you the option to retrieve your account information.

To verify the application through Impulse:

-Launch Impulse.  Hold down shift, and right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify Installation"
-Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application.  You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application.
-If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse.  This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechanism to replace corrupted files.
-Once the update completes, reboot your PC.

I let memtest run for nearly two hours. All checked OK.

I installed Impulse. It attempted to start but never finished. I saw it saying "checking for updates" then it just stopped. Watched the startup in  Process Explorer I can see it start then stop.

I'm going to uninstall/reinstall and see what happens.

Oh, and I've not been seeing any crashes or strange behavior from any other programs, only Fences.

Impulse finally installed. Now it won't let me register the free Fences because it has no serial number. It does show a upgrade is available for Fences although I believe this must be wrong as I have the current version.

I'll let it install it and see what happens.
