Suggestion: ruin & dungeon should give random magical weapons and items

Age of wonders and warlord series have this features and I personally feel it is very fun and addictive. Of course, we need to fight some monsters before getting the loot, and its part of the fun. The tougher the monsters are, the better the weapons and items reward. What do you think?

Standard RPG mechanic that would add a lot of play value to the game and makes adventuring more fun.  Plus making heroes more meaningful if it's good equipment.... hate to beat a dead horse, but see MoM (best example I can think of this late).

That and the monsters can also drop random loot as well! Also you can have various sets.... so the parts of a suit of armor and a weapon can all be found and combined for special bonuses. I saw this done well in Dungeonsiege2, except for 1 critical flaw.... the sets mostly became outdated by the time the player could complete the set! meaning that by the time you have the full set, you have no use for it anymore!! But Elemental isn't the kind of game were that would happen.

Dhraconus is right on this, its a standard RPG mechanism that will last forever.

My understanding of EWOM is going to be a bit of RPG and empire building both. I think it firstly needs to stand firm on RPG then empire building. I am playing Civ 5 at the moment. My opinion is that Civ is still hard to beat with empire building aspect...I truely hope EWOM can be successful, aas there arent many turned base game deverlopers now a days. As for HOMM 5 and disciple 3, they are really a disappointments to me.

One of my favorite parts of MoM is the hero building aspect.  Coddling a hero (Fang, Amazon, Ninja are my favs) till they get a couple levels and then outfitting them with every buff possible as well as an ever improving set of items.  Then taking that hero and wiping the floor with the cheating AI :)

Think my fav is 4W, 2B, 1G for the buffs.  Played a 7W last week and while good, missed the blue buffs.  Just finishing a 5Bl2G and don't really like the death buffing capability.    On my 3rd straight game...   still loving it.   With the updated cheating AI, I'm finding klackons good for getting to your super stack...since that's pretty much what's needed to do much of anything.   Doom drakes were good too... paladins seem to get wiped too easily now.

I havent got the chance to play MoM, heard it was good. I start my turn based game with Civ3 and Age of wonder 2. In Age of wonders, I love the way of building super heroes, leveling them up and equiping with them with the items they found in ruins. EWoM is kind of flooded with heroes/champions. Heroes should be rare units, once you find a few then you needs to take care of them and level them up to the game end.
