my thoughtful feedback

to stardock:

- if youre going to give less money for killing monsters, then you need to cut back on the amount of respawns. otherwise we will continue to need large sums of money to fight off the constant flow of monsters. rebuilding our armies to fight them off isn't cheap. or... make it cheaper to build armies, and faster, not 30ish turns. we wouldn't need tons of money and large armies if forests weren't out of control. in late game, forests respawn 1000's of monsters per turn!

- the main cause for this is because you can't construct a new town unless its 5 tiles away from influence, which results in forests that have no chance of being influenced in late game. the restriction on placing new towns needs to be lifted or reduced. its a major game flaw. more than 2 tile restriction is going to cause this problem. which leads to other problems listed.

- you need a new way of constructing roads. the current caravan design is lame.

- why do some towns not give you any space to build? even though theres plenty of good land? (not filled with mountains)

- auto pathfinding is ignorant. units should use the roads available, not walk through trees because they think its a shortcut. i've noticed units will exit a city at whatever tile is closest to the center of the city. not taking advantage of how the city may be stretched out. so if you have a forest tile real close to the center, the unit jumps out there rather than taking the road which costs virtually no movement cost.

- new monster spawns should have their movement allowance set to ZERO to begin with to prevent them from doing BS between turns. otherwise they get a free shot at any and all caravans. its total stupidity.

get some coders in here and fix these issues please. i'd love to love this game. as it is, the game is a total disappointment. p.s. locking feedback threads and ninja changing the title is not something i'd expect from stardock. i welcome replies to my thread and would like an open discussion, as this is a discussion board.

You were an ass before and that was why it was locked...attitude gets you no where man.

They have said before they are done tolerating rudeness directed at them.  Its 0 tolerance now. Lock on sight. Play nice and they will listen. Simple as that.  You also didn't use and 100 times. I'm so proud of you.

ps you are still being borderline insulting in some ways. Maybe they will forgive you though.

Some feedback:

Have you thought about ESCORTING your caravans?  You really don't expect the drover and one mule to be able to fight off all those raging spiders alone do you?

Seriously, design a unit..call it Caravan Guard... send it out with all your caravans and they should get where they are going safely enough ..if not, well, add more guards.

It's too much effort for too little reward. Unless there's some sort of automation, this is simply not an option.

Honestly mocking his use of AND is a rude thing to do.

Yes he does come across rude, Stardock is obviously being proactive with the patches, they need help and direction. We should be positive and help them. How often do you get to have direct feed back actually taken into account? Fine bugs and problems, and make polite suggestions with well thought out responses.

yeah, caravan escort isn't feasible. i can't control the caravan, and getting 8 stacks of army on all 8 sides of the caravan isn't feasible. you can kill off all monsters in sight and then all it takes is 1 of the 8 tiles surrounding the caravan to be unoccupied for the new monster spawn to come in and attack the caravan between turns. :(

:) hey as ive said all along, GC2 is one of my favorite games of all time, as long as the CEO of StarDock is a regular on this forum and they keep pushing out patches, asking for feedback and adding to it, then I will wait for the game to hit the status I want. I dont think that makes me a fan boy, look at all the games that get released in crappy state, get one patch that barely fixes them, then they discontinue support.

Long as SD doesnt say screw it, and pull the plug i will keep playing each patch.

Reward is subjective...

IMO, getting double movement from roads after they are finished is completely worth it, even if I never send another caravan.

So, anyway I guess I'm done here.

Seriously has the internet created a world where people don't think they have to use manners anymore?
