Resource Display Problem

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I haven't found a thread about it.

Along the top of the screen in the game, resources are displayed in a bar.  When I obtained far too many shards of various types, I was no longer able to see how much gildar my kingdom had.  Instead of showing each and every shard you control, could the bar simply show the fire shard and a number to illustrate how many fire shards you have?  In my last game I had more than 10 of each shard!  I'm sure that came about as a result of a bug making them spawn when I load my saved games, but nonetheless, the current display is very messy and unnecessary.  It is particularly frustrating to have no idea how much gildar your kingdom has!
