Is it possible to install offline without a DVD drive?

I have just bought an Elemental DVD. I have 2 computers, A net book and a regular desktop computer.

I only have an external CD-ROM drive for the net book (no DVD), but there is a DVD drive in the computer.

So I was wondering if it could be possible to install the game on the net book without having a DVD drive. I was thinking of maybe copying the files from the DVD and transfer them on the network. Since there is no copy protection, it should work.

I know that I can download it from impulse since I got a registration code with the DVD. But I don't want to download the whole game from the internet because it's going to eat 4 gig out of my monthly 30gig bandwidth.

So while waiting for answers, I'll try copying the files from the DVD.

By the way, the DVD copy I got have a weird non regular shape on the metal which is not the same color as the DVD. It looks like the DVD is going to die sooner or later. So I will try to exchange it at my retailer.

Thank you for any help.

Copying the disc files or just sharing the drive over your network should work fine.

a simpler way would be to SHARE the dvd drive on your network, then map the shared drive through your network & just run the installer from the shared drive.

alternatively, you could also make an image file(.iso etc) and put it on a USB stick and mount it to a virtual drive. i think there is a lite version of daemon tools thats free.

although it would prob be easier to share your dvd drive over the network.
