[Suggestion] Familiars

I don't know much about these things, but I always thought Familiars were supposed to be representations of their summoner.  The current familiar is really odd since it's this demon-looking thing even though it is for Kingdoms, which are the "good guys."  I think an interesting feature would be adding to Sovereign customization the ability to choose what your familiar looks like.  It doesn't have to be full blown customization that is Spore-like, but being able to choose a bear or a wolf/warg or whatever would be interesting.  I searched for similar posts, and apparently in old beta versions there was a dog that was summoned by a token, but I've never seen one of those, so maybe the art is still in there.  Also, to further reinforce it as a Sovereign representation, Familiars shouldn't level up on their own, but along with the Sovereign (this is a debateable point for balance's sake, but it's interesting).

I like this idea, but better yet would be having different familiars in different spell books (all sharing the same limit of 1 so you only get to pick one among all of them).

I think you are confusings a familiar with an Avatar, an Avatar being a represntaion of another power, and a familiar being a magical compaion creature.

For a Familiar think of a witchs cat, for an Avatar, well think of any god who showed their face on earth, they would take a form, that form representing thire power. by killing the representation, you dont kill the god. And in some instances its also discribed as being able to redirect a dethly blow to your Avatar, and thus save your self.

I like the idea of a familiar. Maybe let the Kingdom choose between a whole bunch of them, and let the Fallen choose between a whole bunch of other ones? Plus, maybe we could alter them a bit, like adding clothes and/or armor, change their skin/fur color and so on? It will only be cosmetic stuff, but it would add a little touch to them.
