Campaign Book 1, 1 hour done, where is book 2?
I'm pretty darn sure that isn't the whole entire campaign...right?!
Maybe just a bug, but how do we continue into the next part of the campaign?

It's not a bug, it's part of the reason why the game is getting lampooned by most critics.
Maybe this will get beefed up in a patch or expansion, but do not adjust your set, you won't get any better reception.
lol surely its not the campaign
who cares about campaign this is a strategy game not an adventure
its not the whole campaign
but the devs have bigger problems now then the campaign making
Campaigns only exist in adventure games?
I for one, care about the campaign. Story has always been part of a good RPG, and this game still has RPG aspects, right? Hmm... maybe I should re-evaluate that...
While they do plan on releasing more books in the future this game has always been primarily a game that relies on randomly generated maps. something like the way sins of a solar empire is.
Just play the sandbox mode! Its been differnt for me everytime and is the meat and potatos of the game.
Just like Continuous mode in Dawn Of Discovery and Tropico3 is the meat and potatoes of those games.
The campagins are more tutorials..
Stories are my fav parts of games.. but SOME games dont need them (crysis, Tropico3, Dawn Of Discovery and Elemental).
RPGS are my fav genre and my rpgs NEED a good story, in my strategy games they dont.
Elemental is more focused on sandbox mode, give it a try.
I found the campaign a bit frustrating and even confusing, because its' so linear. There aren't any interesting choices to make by the player. You wouldn't expect that from a strategy game.
I would say: the campaign should either be a proper tutorial of the game -which it isn't; or a deep and interesting rpg-like scenario -which at this point, with all the other problems, should have no priority at all. Making the core (strategy) game better should. Maybe later we will see some interesting rpg-campaigns (by SD or perhaps by modders).
the said that the campaign will be like a rpg, lol .
Lol story, I personally dislike story in RPGs since it diverts attention from the important parts of the game. Look at The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Most people who played it avoided the story for hours and hours, and after logging in about 80 myself I have yet to progress beynd the mandatory 1st quest in the game. Story really isn't necessary. If I wanted story, I'd read a book, preferrably by Robert Jordan.
Sorry but "this game is primarily sandbox" and "strategy games don't need a story" seem like weak cop outs to me.
If they don't need them or this game isn't about that stuff, then emphasis should not have been placed on the lore nor should the button labeled 'campaign' be present on the opening menu.
Why is it so hard to just admit that it is severely lacking? No, it shouldn't be a priority at this stage, but lets not just pretend it's fine or doesn't need to be addressed.
they said alot things ![]()
i find that along with the AI the need for a more polished UI ( needs alot done). also the strategic battles to be smoother (this is wat can slow down a multiplayer alot). balance out those company groups so units still can die individually instead of some surrealistic OP single lifeforce unit.
