I'd like to download The Sims 3: Ambitions expansion from Impulse, but I have a non-Impulse version of The Sims 3. Will the Impulse expansion work with the non-Impulse base game?
Yes. They should work with retail and D2D (or gamers gate etc).
I am currently having problems with this. Whenever I try and load ambitions through Impulse, it loads The Sims 3 launcher, but Ambitions is grayed out. I registered my game through EA, but that didn't help. I am currently re-installing the game right now. I will repost when it gets finished.
Make sure that if you are using the DVD version of The Sims 3 that you are updating the game to the latest version. The game updater is integrated into the game itself. After updating the game, you should be ok to use the expansion.
