The true spiritual successor of MoM will just update the textures of MOM, make it run at 1680x1050+ and add TCP-IP, PBEM, Hotseat MP (non of this hosted server bs)

So easy even a cave man can do it!

I don't know why they just don't do it you can even use the ewom engine although it stinks full of leaks and bugs !

Is the idea to create a Frankenstein type game taking bits and pieces from everything else? Sure those games have strengths, but EWOM is supposed to be unique. Sure Brad has gotten inspirations from MoM and other games, but the goal wasn't to make a sequel or just update what's already been done. That being said, let's fix what we've got. I believe the structure is creative and full of potential, but the pieces just haven't been completed all the way. Let's fix magic, champions, tactical battles, resource layout, AI and such so they actually work the way they should.

I think the diplomacy is actually broken.

That's it easy to do

I'm sure professor Farnsworth has an invention for this:

1. Press some multi-colored buttons.

2. Pull the lever on the side

3. zip-pow-bang nice new game pops out on the other side.

That was easy!

no, no, NO! Much easier to start over from scratch and past together a bunch of proprietary engines into a cohesive, bug-free product.

Also, it should automatically order pizza in the background so you don't have to stop playing to eat. ;)

+1 Karma for that excellent suggestion!!!

I hate myself for doing this...

Actually it's only 1 step:

#1 - Release flawless game that enthralls anybody regardless of their expectations and skill level

To actually answer something that makes sense.

AI Coding isn't this thing that is identical across all games, it can't be "ported" per say. For example, when you said that they should "import" the GalCiv AI. That can't be done, it's not like it's a digitized brain that they can just "drop in" Elemental. It's much more compilcated than that.

So sorry to burst your bubble, but what you request is not that easy. And to be fair, the devs did fight with Microprose to get the rights, but weren't able to secure them in a way that was viable for them. So they probably have to be VERY careful of what they do "borrow" from MOM as i'm sure Microprose are just waiting for them to do somekind of far fetched infringement. ;)

Hope this was a tad helpful,

v.

That didn't work when Everquest II had the /pizza command that brought up online ordering from Pizza Hut, it wouldn't work now either. :(

Don't forget to add the SoaSE pirates (or mercenary system here) so that we can recruit/enlist neutral entities.

Well, if it orders pizza on the side it better not use *my* credit card to do it.

The downside being it'd be powered by Slurm...  and you know where that comes from.
