[1.06 BUG]Gilden Kingdom has access to "Death" magic ???

Gilden faction appears to have access to death magic even though it clearly states life if you choose to play him

No matter what custom game i play 'Markinn' the default Gilden Soverign appears to have access to Death magic as he has a Vigilant Minion up within a few turns ...

There is something wrong here as a) the character shows as having "Life" magic when creating a custom match and selecting him and b) He is a Kingdom faction and thus should not have access to "Death" magic at all.


What i will do now is try creating a custom game and choosing this char as my soverign and see if it gives me death magic aswell.

EDIT:  Well i tried playing as the sov in question and it definately did not give me access to death magic, yet playing against him he ALWAYS has a Vigilant Minion ... something is definately needing looked at here.

I have also seen a Kingdom sovereign wandering around with a Vigilant Minion, although I can't remember which one it was.

I've actually encountered the Pariden (spelling?) faction with a vigilant minion. So if they are summoned with death magic, there appears to be a bug.

On a related note, isn't the vigilant minion obscenely powerful for such a low level creature? 10 damage to every opponent will kill most champions unless they level constitution, and two of them is just ridiculous.

There are several posts regarding this .... i dunno it is definately very powerful at the start, but it really doesnt take much to counter them ie squads, groups, raids etc .. the amount of gold needed to accumalate enough of them early game to counter the like of say 100HP just isn't feasable ... i felt the same way till i started makin use of spiders which will utterly trounce the VM.  Initially it does seems like a very very powerful spell ... and can come off us being a bit too effective because the AI simply doesn't build the kinda armies that would defend against them at the start.  I think the judgement needs left till multiplayer is released for now.

I've seen this several times and it's not fixed. I just saw the Tarth leader running around with one after updating to 1.07. On a side note I tried to remove the Vigilant Minion from the game by changing it to the Familiar in the Death spell book and it worked for me (I could not R&D the VM and could get the F) , but the AI was still getting them from some place. I wish I could see what the AI groups where doing, as it is it's hard to track where the problem is.
