The terran Confederacy poped out of nowhere and took earth and a bunch of ohter importand Planets! Has this happened to anyone else?

maybe this event only happens when the AI sucessfully invade earth and your millitary suxk very much

No they didn't invade, it was a rebellion. I am the most powerful in the galaxy and am recalaiming all my 10 or so planets that poped into the Terran Confederacy. They are a minor race now!

Yes this happened to me at an unfortunate moment (late game) when I was at war and social projects had been suspended. Good thing you don't loose half your military too!

I lost my three best planets (class 35, class 33 and class 30) but quickly reclaimed them with some combat transports I had built for the war.

possible when morale is very low. they just break away due to unhappiness. Otherwise it's just destabilization and you can counter using propaganda.
