CursorFX not functioning ?

CursorFX

I have windows 7 Ultimate,,,,,,32X bits.   Does anyone know if  there something wrong with the cursorfx program/software ?  I have had the free version since purchasing Object Desktop in Oct. '09 and all was working fine until recently.  I then uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and there was no cursor at all !  when i uninstalled it, the windows default cursor appeared.   I did notice that in Impulse, it requested to be updated but free versions cannot be updated.

Please tell me what to do or not do.  I thought of purchasing the program being that I get a discount but then thought I should check first.  I'd rather use the free version for all I use are two cursors that I like alot.

thanks ,,,

I would buy the Plus version, it has a lot of nice tweaks and trails, etc. Recoloring and resizing is nice too.

But the free version should be working for you. If it is installed, try again to uninstall it. Reboot.

I dunno how tech savvy you are, but I'd uninstall using something like Revo Uninstaller, or the like. Something that will clean the orphan files out. A quick registry clean might help too, but only if you're savvy enough to use these things and make a restore point first. Reboot again. Reinstall CursorFX.

+1 They even have a portable version that I run from a flash drive to remove junkware from my family and friends PC's.

Thanks for the response,,,,,,,

Revo Installer is what I use to uninstall all my software then I use Ease Tech Eraser to remove from hard drive

Yes I do know about registry cleaning and creating a restore point.

I have installed and uninstalled this program 3 times and to be honest with anyone that may read this, it is just not worth my headaches I develop trying to troubleshoot.

I have since changed my mind regarding the purchase of the software and will spend my hard earned pennies elsewhere..... I continue to remind myself,,,,,I lived without all of this prior to Sept '09 so why not continue ?

Thank you again and have a great day !

If you still have it installed try this: Go to Program Files\Stardock\CursorFX and right click CursorFX control panel.exe(and possibly the CursorFX.exe as well) and select properties and select compatibility tab. Set compatibility mode to Vista SP2.

This may not apply in your case but it fixed some issues others were having with the control panel. It's worth a shot.
