[BUG 1.05]Sound Cuts Out

Played the game with the new patch for about 2.5 hours tonight.  Around 2 hours in, the sound effects started cutting out in battles.  It started with no sound for arrows fired from Archers, then spread to all attacks from all units, and then eventually spread to the strategic map.  This happened over the course of 5 - 10 turns.

any idea what the ram use by elemental was when this happened?

I also noticed sound AND graphics issues in the turns before oom.

I had the sound cutting out on me as well. Didn't think to look at RAM usage, but I was able to carry on playing for a very long time before I quit, and it never went OOM or crashed or anything. I too had been playing for a great many hours when the sound problem appeared, and it got progressively worse exactly as the OP described.

Yep, I've had this issue before, and usually the game CTDs eventually. A restart of the game fixes it.

Yeah, I've had this happen too.  Frequently enough that I can't recall all the circumstances, but usually after a long stretch of play culminating in a tactical combat.

Unfortunately I don't know how much RAM was being used.  I was getting ready for bed, so I didn't concern myself with it too much.  However, it did work fine on a restart.

I have had this happen on several occasions.  Sometimes it's just the sound in tactical battle that it's missing.  I will watch for when it actually happens.

I am using a non sound blaster card.  It really rocks and doesn't have any of the clicking issues that sound blasters have.

Also experiencing this. Starting with some sound effects after playing roughly 45 minutes. Within another 15 minutes I've lost all almost all sound effects and music. Game in general starts to get really choppy as well.

Lots of "DebugMessage:  Out of sample handles." in the debug log when sound starts to die. By the end there are non-sound entries all over the place as well.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.
