The last Radeon drivers screwed up AoW: SM for me, have to play the game without Direct 3D.  Hopefully the new version will fix the problem!

Edit: No, still broken.  Ah well thanks for the news anyway, maybe it will help out people who are having problems with EWOM.

Any word if this fixes the out of memory issue with ati cards in elemental? bout to try it in any event.

Any luck?

Highly doubtful, since a lot of the people with frame rate issues have an NVIDIA video card.

The frame rate was ok on my nvidia 260GTX... mind you I forced Antiliasing and Aniso to the max in the nvidia control panel for that game and it was decent framerate 30+fps thru out (on 1.00)

does it change anything? I mean this game is so old that it's ugly anyway (one of my favourite tho... with MoM of course :D)

Running the game on a GTX275 myself which is pretty much the same card and I'm having horrible framerates without AA/AF and while playing on default settings at 1920x1200 :/

My system doesn't appear to have any bottlenecks that may affect the game. The game stutters while two out of four CPU cores are at about 60-80% and the GPU at 50% load. (i5-750 @ 3.6GHz, 8GB DDR3-RAM, Win7 x64) Changing affinity to one core doesn't help at all but puts the core in use to 100% load.

So the problem doesn't seem to be related to the card model/manufacturer only.

It was last time I played (couple of month ago :D) but it does not remove anything from the fact that it's a great game...

in fact I don't care whether a game is ugly or not as far as it's good (but I'm rather old school for that)

forgot to mention that I'm playing in 1280*1024 because I've an old LCD so that might be the reason why it's ok...

one thing I've noticed: I've a quad phenom at 3.7Ghz and the game is really crap at utilising properly all my cores... so perhaps there's room for improvement on that front...

After updating to these drivers it seems like all I ever crash from is 'out of sample handles'

I don't even get to the point of 1.5gb of memory used by elemental either. zzz

So tempted to bust out my old 8800 GTS.
