Can't uninstall impulse

I get

Error

Error getting file security C:/documents and settings/calcinator/ GetLastError: 5

When I try to uninstall. Background details: I'm on Windows XP Home. About two months ago elemental borked my hardrive when I had to reboot due to the firewall issue, so I went back to an older hard drive from 2009. I created a new user account and set myself up under that. When I did that, I tried to install Impulse but couldn't, because there was an older install on the 2009 harddrive (probably from when I bought Sins) under a different user. I booted into safe mode and took control of the files. Now when I try to uninstall Impulse, I still get the same error message.

There's no way the files don't have the right security permissions, I set them all correctly. Something must be caching or getting caught.

Since this is pretty complicated I don't think anyone will have a fix out of hand, so does anyone have manual uninstall directions for Impulse?

Sounds like old and new user accounts are creating permissions issues.  I would imagine you should be logging in to this new/old drive under the 'original' account that you installed Impulse with....and uninstall from there....then boot into your new account and reinstall/whatever.

I have a feeling the problem isn't specific to Impulse...but more a case of account/permission issues.

Hopefully one of the Stardock crew can assist with [perhaps] a registry script 'tool' for key removals...;)
