Destiny's Embers Ebook: No Code

I recently received my Destiny's Embers Kindle Ebook and was not able to find a Code for the additional content that Brad mentioned. I looked before the Prologue and after the Acknowledgments and was not able to find it. It did mention that a code is available and is found on the inner cover but there is no code I can see. Can any of you who have purchased the Ebook edition tell me where to look or can someone from Stardock chime in if Ebook users will be getting the code?

I also purchased the ebook from Amazon and couldn't find the code.  Could someone from Stardock clarify how people who have purchased the ebook version of Destiny's Embers can receive their code/download?

Thanks, Frogboy. I am waiting eagerly to hear what they have to say. There are at least two other threads about this, including one started in the support forum by me.

I will be purchasing this for my Nook as well, so RH may need to be made aware that B&N sells the eBook as well.

Knowing Random House, they'll make sure you guys get taken care of.

How do you like the book? It's the first one I've ever written. :)

The nook version does not have a code as well. First day back to school, and behind in reading already. I am also finishing up another book so I bought it to be the next to read. I will let you know later. I've read the dedication does that count for anything?

Thanks for the reply Frogboy. I will await Random House's response on the issue.

On the topic of reading, I as yet have to start reading it. I will be sure to give accolades if I like it, maybe even post a review on Amazon.com product page for it.

This reminded me to order a copy of the paperback. :) My local bookstore here in Germany still only has it listed as preorder, but their database may not have updated yet.It retails for $16 here.

I will be reading it as soon as I finish A Game of Thrones, but I am looking forward to it.  Unfortunately, this new game came out that has put a serious dent in my reading time...

While I have not finished the book yet, ( working double shifts and trying to learn the Elemental game) I have gotten almost half way thru.  I am thoughly enjoying the story.  The characters are engaging and have drawn me in to the world, so I am concerned about their fate.  There are some intriguing things hinted at which I look forward to being reveiled by the end of the book. If I only had a couple more hours in a day I would have finished it already.  Unfortunately I have to sleep sometime.

Frogboy,

I'm only  a couple chapters in, but I like your writing style and I agree with azzaron, the characters and story are interesting and engaging.  I bought both editions of the book but I too am waiting to hear about the ebook code, as the paper book's code is for my wife.

I started reading a few pages and it does have a lot of promise. Can't wait to get time to read the rest :).

Any news on the Codes for the Ebook btw?

I think I've waited long enough. I'm going to ask amazon for a refund and buy the paper book. If I wait another day it'll be too late to ask for a refund. I didn't buy it just for the campaign, but that was definitely one of the reasons behind my decision to buy it.

Update:

Amazon gave me a refund. Although the order was quite old, the book was only released 4 days before I asked for the refund. I clearly stated the reason for it and there was no trouble.

I immediately logged on to the local books site and purchased the print version

I purchased the eBook version via the Sony Reader Store and it too doesn't contain a code, only a reference to an inner cover that's not included.

I've just finished reading the book and I think it's a nice read. The ending is a bit abrupt and some situations are a bit hard to believe, most especially Geni's reaction to Jacob, Nym's sudden almost-change of heart and Balu'thia coming on to Xander. The Iru seemed like an interesting addition, but the encounter really seemed to serve no purpose, there didn't seem to be a real reason to include it. The book also contains quite a few punctuation and grammatical errors. But I think it's a decent debut and I'd read the next novel.

interesting  question I got  paperback copy how do I apply the code?

Any news on the code issue? I want to buy the book, but want to get it on my Kindle. Really don't want to buy a paperback right now, as I'm just getting ready to move and don't need another physical item to pack and take. But I want to make sure I can get the code. Any updates on this?

I hope that you guys can get the publisher to send you a code. It's kinda sad that DLC gets linked to the purchase of a vanity novel and people who bought the novel can't even get the DLC. :(

Hmm I have the book as well, I really like the story so far (chapter 22), the characters and the way it's written. Awesome. I knew this already since I had read the first chapter on Amazon... I was hooked :P

So yeah I was basically wondering the same thing as Twohawks here: I have the book and the code on the sticker on the inside of the backcover, but how do I apply it, register it?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through, and I've got to admit that the book rocks.  I honestly wasn't expecting that much and would have been happy with the usual 'potboiler' fantasy story.  But... I'm having a hard time putting the book down.  Nym is a completely repulsive character, and I'm eagerly awaiting him to come to a suitably squishy end.  }:)

If you look in the forum on fiction there are some comments there as well - personally I really liked it and am hoping you find time for a sequel.
