How many tiles can a city support?

Cannot find this information...

It is hard to know what improvements to make when I don't know how big a city can be?  (In GalCiv2 you saw how many tiles the planet could support right away)

Your city's "influence" seems to expand and allow more tiles - but what is the max?

Thanks.

Current capacity is on the city's HUD/Nameplate:

AFAIK it's fixed at 50 max.

This is not on the HUD anymore as far as I can see... I could only find it in the hiergamenon for that city. It would be easier to have it on the HUD.

edit:

Just checked again and it is only on the HUD for small newer cities that almost dont produce anything, as soon as a city produces tech, arcane and materials it does not show anymore. This is kind of annoying as this info is mostly interesting for larger cities! Furthermore, why isnt this info shown in the GUI at the bottom of the screen when you click in a city?

Yeah...that's not there anymore, or rather it gets cut off. Way to play your own game kryo

You can see the remaining open tiles on the city's detail screen:

As PapBek said, once a city gains a few resources the "open tiles" info disappears off the city's HUD... it might still be there, but "pushed" off the HUD by other stuff.
