Fonts Are Painful To Read: Too Thin And Jagged

Is anyone else noticing many fonts that are way too thin and jagged?  I am not a font expert but many of the fonts seem to need a huge dose of anti-aliasing. Are other people seeing this or is there something unique about my font rendering?  I am running my native resolution of 1440x900.

Not a pleasant font experience.

The fonts are beautiful for me (1680x1050, nvidia 250GTS), thick and smooth. I did hear alot of complaints in the chatroom though, must be some wierd specific resolution-to-monitor-drivers bug?

Yep, I find the fonts to be horrible. Needs bigger text (running at 1920x1080). I can barley make out the M in Miss during tact battles.

I'm getting the same thing.  In some places it looks fine, but in either places the text has a serious case of the jaggies, which makes it difficult to read.

End of Baleurion's quote

Same setup (260 Core 216, but close enough) and I've got no problems with the fonts, which is unusual: I almost always find fonts in everything too small to read comfortably. But no, haven't noticed any problems.

If you're having font issues, try toggling font smoothing in the options.

If you had the beta installed, try uninstalling and re-installing Elmental.  And before re-installing make sure that you have cleared out any traces of Elemental that may have been left behind in the %ProgramData% or MyGames folders.

I'm running at 1920x1080 and the font size seems fine for me. The choice of font is another thing, though :P Better than beta, but a lot of things still make me feel like I'm reading a word document :P

Stardock, thanks for the suggestions.  I most definitely had the font smoothing checked in the options.  I'll try the uninstall/install tactic to see if that fixes anything and report back.
