Relias Campaign Dead-End... [possible spoilers]

I'm not sure if it's just a bug, or me making a mistake.  I'm about 4-hours into Relias' campaign, where I'm supposed to "split my forces" and warn people while I march to the dragon.

My main force ends up at a "Dark Gate" across from the area that had been revealed.  It's marked that I need to understand dark magic to get through.

Then, the real seeming problem.  In a couple turns (when my traders reach them), the two furthest cities, (closest to home... cyan and yellow), trigger messages.  The queen says she doesn't believe me.  The next guy supposedly gives me troops (they never appear).

Then my order is this.  I get to the purple city and get my boat.  I pilot it to the green city and only get archers (the message claims I'm getting a boat, too).  I row my way merrily back to Yellow and...nothing.

That's it.  If I'm not missing something, there's a bug.  If there's no bug, I'm missing something.

im at a similar problem

I did get my transport ship loaded up the 3 melee troops from the purple AI and the 3 archers from green and sailed them down to the beach where the main quest log says to ( i think)  walk up to the yellow city and nothing... ok  i try teleporting my lord down to see if that works   nope...  cant get the quest to progress without.

So can I suggest that only a unit that was present for the chapter-start should trigger these events, or those touched by the event (knights, etc)?

Also, can we actually get the units promised us?  Green supposedly gives me a boat.

If nothing else, can we disable traders (who auto-path anyway) triggering this?

The quest log says that you are supposed to warn Lord Markinn. Ignore that, you cannot. Take them ships and sail west along the shoreline until you can reach the shore on the other side of the black gate.

Hmm... That was an anticlimactic boss-fight.  All my heroes got killed in round 2 after the 10-damage spell got spammed a few times.  The rest was my armies killing everything off.

The dragon went down in 3 hits, and the boss went down in 1 (except it took about 4 rounds for 3 units to hit him).

My sovereign was gone so early he missed the battle.  Of course, he was just sitting around watching and tossing very weak attack spells, at this point in the game.  I made him all-round, which meant he wasn't nearly as strong as a military unit, and couldn't damage anything consistently with magic.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the campaign.  And I expected a second to pop up when the first was completed.

I hope the normal mode is more exciting.
