How does Elemental work with the Impulse client?

I preordered the retail box.  How will that work in conjunction with the Impulse client, which I don't have installed on my computer?

Do I have to be online to activate Elemental in order to play?

Will Elemental update itself, or does that only work through Impulse?

You won't need to be online to activate Elemental as there is no activation.  :)

However, you will need Impulse for updates.

The retail version does not require any activation out of the box, however you will need to use Impulse to update the game.

Hmm, ok, so I should go download and install the Impulse client beforehand, then?  Or can I do it after I install Elemental?  Will Impulse detect that it's installed then?

I know from inside impulse you can add a game.. that is if it does not detect it.. under the my games tab simply click the register a game if it does not pick it up.. image for reference..

btw the elemental listed there is beta4 !

I find the impulse client to be quite polished and it works well. No complaints there.

Just got it to work. I must of miss typed the reg code out... 4 times. Lol. But least it's working now, that's all that matters. :D Thank you for your help.
