How large is the game?

I only have 386K.

1.I am curious if anyone knows what size the game is as i don't want to wait for it to arrive in the mail.

I want to estimate how many days/hours it will take to download.

1A. Is this like a torrent where i can start and stop the download, or does it all have to be done in one shot?

2.I have never downloaded a game from stardock. Can i save the whole game so that if i reinstall windows, i can install the game again? Or is it like steam where you have to download it all again? (though you can back up steam)

I would just buy it locally, but i doubt that they will have it until weeks later. They still don't have entrenchment or trinity. (entrenchment was a download only before trinity as best i can tell)

3. What stores are supposed to carry this game? I have Walmart, Target & Hastings.

I don't have best buy,game stop etc.

Thanks.

Beta 4 is 1.67GB according to Impulse. That's installed size, I believe the download size is a bit smaller. Release game will probably be larger, but I can't imagine it growing tremendously. I'd be surprised if it's over 2GB (but that's a guess).

Pretty sure you can pause downloads on Impulse.

Couple options here. You can use the "Archive" option in Impulse once it's downloaded to make an archive, and stick that on a DVD/external hard drive/whatever. Any patches you had installed when you made the archive are included, so you'd only need patches from after that date. You can reinstall from that.

You can also use Impulse Anywhere to download a version meant for offline installation.

It was. If you already have Sins itself, you can just grab Entrenchment and Diplomacy instead of Trinity (which is all three combined).

I don't know, but with the importance Brad places on Walmart as a retailer, I'd expect they will try to get it in there. Amazon.com is also carrying it, and they have free delivery for more expensive orders like this.

Going from what Brad has been saying about the amount of graphical content that is in the game that was not present in Beta 4, I'd guess that the installation size will be closer to 3gb - 4gb.

@Tridus

Thanks a lot for all of that information. It is rare to have someone be able to answer all of my question. Thumbs up :)

@TheProgress

Thanks, i was assuming about 6-8 gigs just compared to todays games.

According to the system requirements, the game only needs 2GB of hard drive space. However, Impulse can use up to three times amount this space (2GB to download the initial file, 2GB to extract it, and 2GB to install it...your first 4GB will be freed up after this). That kind of irritates me when wanting to play the Witcher (9GB).
