Does anyone know of a cheap program that has the same type of options that Photoshop has? Photoshop is a little expensive for me...$650!!! WTF, that cant be right.

BTW, can you do icon recoloring in the free version of Skin Studio?

A good graphic program with similar properties as PhotoShop is PaintShop and The GIMP.
Paint Shop Pro goes for around $99.00 US
The GIMP is a freeware.

I'm a Paint Shop Pro user, and lover, so I'm biased, but in my experience PSP is a lot easier to learn than either Photoshop or The Gimp, and is perfect for skinning.

Also, if you shop around, you can usually find PSP for less than the $99 list price.
