Yes, right-click on the volume icon in the systray, select Open volume mixer. In Win 7 DS is shown as Windows Explorer. Hit Mute. Done.

The volume mixer is one of my favorite features in Vista.

In Win 7, my Volume Mixer shows only System Sounds and Windows Media Player, does this mean Deskscapes did not install correctly?

Having an option to have the sound turn off by itself when the desktop is not in focus (no open windows) would be a great idea. And having it gradually come to a hault instead of the sound just turning off instantly when a window is opened would be nice. So would a volume slider in the internal program.
