Custom Factions?

I just updated and I can't find the create a faction button.  I tried search, but nothing came up that gives a hint as to where it is.  Has it been removed for beta3b?

As I've had it explained to me, create faction functionality was moved to the modding tools.

Unfortunately, the modding tools isn't added until Beta 4. So yes, custom factions have effectively been removed as of now.

Which is unfortunate, because the game appears to be running stable for me now.

So as far as custom factions go, in order to create them we need to use xml? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything official.  Perhaps Frogboy can shed some light on the subject?

No they are in the modding tools area.  So there is a GUI but it's not at the start of a game. You'd have to 'mod a faction' prior to starting a new game.

i just wanna know if im going to have to be script savy to do that...i am not a coder and liked how easy making a faction was in galactic civ 2 and beta2
