no scrollbar in one fence only

... and all future fences

Hi. I am experiencing a strange problem. I have one fence that refuses to scroll (no scrollbar) and thus new shortcuts don't flow properly inside the fence.

All attempts to change this behaviour fail. The other fences are fine, but any newly created fences exhibit the same no scrollbar behaviour.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Fences, saving my snapshots beforehand, but if I copy back the old snapshots to %appdata%\Stardock\Fences, a reinstated snapshot recreates the same problem.

This is what I am looking at:

no scrollbar in single fence

What can I do? I am running Windows 7 32-bit, Fences Pro.

How many shortcuts in the fence?

Can you grab the side and mke the fence bigger so you can see the second column?

There are 8 shortcuts in the fence. Yes, I can reshape the fence and make it look like this:

Incidentally, I have now noticed that a few other fences cannot scroll. Perhaps they were made after the problem developed. But some still do.

Move the cursor to the bottom of the fence and move the border up so that only four shortcuts show.  Does the scroll bar show up?

A scroll bar only shows when the size of the fence is not big enough to show all the items contain within it. :sun:

Playing around a bit I can make the scrollbar show if I do as you suggested (image 3 below), but extending the bottom of the fence again the scrollbar disappears - as you would expect - yet the icons do not cascade below each other within the width of the fence: they are partially hidden at the top of the fence (image 4).

Actually, I now notice all of the fences on this desktop react this way. I'm wondering if it is a Windows 7 thing because I have just checked and Fences doesn't behave this way on my XP machine. On XP altering the width makes no icon half represented - they all file down vertically like dominoes.

I think this needs to be looked at by the Fences programmers - any Stardock representative interested?

Hi,

This should be fixed in the latest version.  Please upgrade your Fences Pro or uninstall and reinstall the free version.
