Looking for a Tech Tree Mod

By "Tech tree mod", I mean a mod that greatly improves the tech tree. I really like Galactic Civilizations, but the tech tree is boring to me. Laser 1, Laser 2, Laser 3, yawn. I'm hoping someone has made a mod that has a tech tree more like the original GalCiv, or civilization, or most other tbs games. With lots of prerequisites and side technologies. If not I'll try something.

I have a Metroid tech tree as part of my wider Metroid TC. A lot of total conversions include tech trees that are partially or completely redone.
