Black Blank Screen on Desktop

Hello to All ! I've just downloaded Dreamscapes 3.20 and installed it. I'm using XP Pro SP2 (Biostar Mother board inbuilt NVIDIA 6300 graphics with AMD Processor) and I applied some dream animated walls (default files with the installation) but after downloading and installing some dream files from Wincustomize, my desktop doesn't play anything i.e. full Black Blank Screen. My desktop is CRT Samsung 15" Monitor of resolution 1024 x 768. So, wht should I do now?? I need help plez.....

Not sure, but it might be because you need to install Service Pack 3 and possibly other updates to get Dreamscapes to work.

I doubt if Stardock would have developed a current product to run on XP SP2, you might try upgrading to SP3.

XP does not come with a mpeg2 decoder which may be why some downloaded dreams do not work, but the included dreams do not.  Usually it should be prompting you when it detects you tried to apply a dream and had no decoder.

Try applying Winter Snow or Stars both of which are included with DeskScapes 3.2.  These do not use any video decoders and so should be working for you.

SP2 should be sufficient for DeskScapes, though it is always important to ensure you have the latest DirectX9 updates.

DeskScapes on XP requires a lot in the way of video horsepower that several XP machine do not have.  Make sure you have at least an AGP 8x video card (PCI-E is better)

With built in graphics I do not believe you will be able to run Deskscapes.

actually some dream files with installation only worked like Earth, Vintage, water effects but not Flowers blooming into the water and other downloaded from the site... I've also installed MPEG-2 decoder but not working yet... so, wht would be the problem then....???

If you are using the free version I believe that only included dreams will work. You will need the paid version to use any  dreams downloaded from WC.

If you have the paid version, did you uninstall the free one first?

That was the case with Deskscapes 2.x, but with Deskscapes 3 the trial will run any content for 30 days.
