Just got ObjectDesktop & ObjectDock

Anyways, a year or so I had gotten a pirated copy of this but I had recently gotten enough money to get both and this software was truly useful (I mean heck; only way I can get to my apps and such faster would be with nix, since its command line isn't like windows)

So now I came and bought ObjectDock & Desktop (Why objectdock isn't part of object desktop I don't know; seems like it would be but they're both quite nice)

Just wish that the virtual desktops thing worked for W7x64

Not a good way to start a conversation with the company whose software you pirated..... >:(

No karma for you!!!!

:-P Its good enough to have bought it now.

No Job -> No Money -> hard to buy pretty things.

But hey now I'll be playing with skinstudio and such until I get my desktop looking how I want.

Though I've noticed with objectdock 2 plus; you can have it display open windows on the bottom dock, wonder if theres going to be a way to do it like windows 7 does (With the application window stacks so that it doesn't end up uber long; tho when i tried using this it also raped my CPU streaming across the bar)

I think he saw the error of his ways! And it's not like others here haven't bought or use cracked or pirated copies of software. ;)

Of course with the legit paid versions you help support development, get support and updates, and need not worry about "nasties" being installed on your system. Not to mention it's the right thing to do.

ghlavac how did you get the 'pirated' copy off your computer?

The reason I ask is that most times you hear stories about them leaving 'nasties' behind.  You will want to make sure there aren't any of those as it it possible they may mess with you later on.

The whole 'leaving nasties behind' bit is only bad if you don't get it from a reputable source.

And I consider piracy an 'extended demo'  O:)

And its also software manufacturer's only weapon against the pirated stuff.

Heres whats required for me to want a legit copy:

- Useful

- Affordable (Ie, the opposite of photoshop)

- Good support; and from reading the forums here it seems like thats good.

Tho one of the programs (tweak) i'm a little 'ehh' to using since I run a server os rather then 7.

Not having money doesn't really justify theft.  I can't afford a Ferrari, but I don't just go out and steal one.

Some microsoft sounds are authored using a pirated bit of software.

And yet software that is good enough to make people buy it (Even when they could get a pirated copy anyways) Is good; is it not?

What about using trial versions of software that allow you to determine whether you want to buy the software or not?

Because everyone knows that when you steal a Ferrari you make a 1:1 copy of it leaving the original intact.

Look, some nice folks have been pretty gentle with you....but with that "definition", a fella named Jafo's gonna shorten your stay here.

Less double post.

And the point IO was trying to make with this is that its a very good piece of software that was well worth it when I had the money to buy it.

If case you haven't noticed already, pirated software is frowned upon here. I would suggest in any future forum posts you refrain from mentioning that you 'initially' pirated a program no matter what reason you believe 'justifies' doing that.
