Wait, if I only just got the game did I miss Beta 2 >_<
Was unable to buy with paypal due to preorder, but unable to not use Paypal. Then tonight I was able to buy without PayPal, but have I now missed my chance of being in Beta 2?

No. We are leaving the pre-orders up until Monday.
Yay, second time I have had a question answered by you ![]()
I HEART Stardock ![]()
Wait all is not well, I have not got E-Mail with Beta Key ![]()
I have the key, I registered the key, but it doesn't show up for download...
And, it looks like the 'show prereleased' wasn't checked for some reason. D'oh.
I got it now, WOW Impulse speeds are fast, even better than Steam ![]()
I just pre-ordered the game, I guess I didn't know there would be a deadline to opt in on the Beta haha. Anyway to still get in this round or will I need to wait till next beta?
I'm in the same boat, we have to wait until beta 3 before we can download it I think
That is REALLY frustrating. I ONLY reason I pre-ordered was for the beta. I ordered Monday afternoon because I didn't see the small print saying that the beta was closed.
Is there any way to still get into the beta? Frogboy mentioned that the pre-orders were remaining open until Monday. Can someone from Stardock PLEASE PLEASE help me out. I really don't want to have to wait until the next beta.
I promise to give extremely valuable feedback about the beta. ![]()
I don't want to sound like I am giving up hope on getting into beta 2 but since it looks unlikely at this point, can someone say when beta 3 will be available?
Beta 3:
LOL , still sucks cause I did same thing pre-orded to get into beta only to realize I couldn't. Would have been nice if they posted something in the news.

Not sure how fast it is updated, but surely they have a warning there. No idea on Impulse.
Last Monday (14), not this Monday (21). We wound up extending it until last Friday (18), at which point it was closed following the release of the Beta 2A update.
I'm kicking myself since I sat here with the order page open all last week saying to myself, I've gotta place that order...
I wish I understood, at least, why there needs to be this kind of cut-off. I've beta tested a lot of games in the past based on the pay now to try it model and I've never seen a cutoff that blocked me. Is Stardock worried that they are going to be flooded with new accounts during the pre-order period.
Even if I can't play for now, it would at least be helpful to know why...
Stardock here is your chance to not be like other developers...
You mean by actually making their betas matter and incorporating a lot of user feedback into the game? Oh, wait..
It helps keep everyone on the same page and cut down on duplicate reports. Feedback earlier in a build's life is also more useful than scattered reports from latecomers as the internal build will rapidly diverge from the public one as time goes on.
Yeah, even after a few days from a new build the vast majority of the easy to find stuff (which would be the first thing new people find) is already reported ![]()
ok, in that case I promise not to give any feedback if you let me know. I will stoically endure all bugs in silence. can I join?

Sure - When they reopen invites
- I'd give you mine, but it's already been used....NEVER re-use an invite....It's bad for you, and it's bad for the environment too (*According to Al Gore's latest movie "The End Of The World - How Re-Using invites will lead to global warming")
But people don't only want to play the beta to provide feedback.
Some people have only bought the game early so they can play the beta.
I would have bought it last night if not for this thread letting me know I wouldn't be able to play it.
It seems to be a smart move for Stardock to get people in my boat to buy it now as negative reviews of the retail product may discourage us from a purchase.
Any negative review of the game at retail will make the game look a hundred times better than what the beta is now. If you're looking for a gaming experience, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking to give feedback, you're in the wrong place (until beta 3 starts).
I like to play games to see the ideas. One of my favourite games of all time is Republic: The Revolution. I have spent about 100 hours playing it. I would probably objectively rate it 5/10. I want to see what these guys have come up with and I am that crazy I will pay for it now and if its unplayable but has promise I will just wait for subsequent versions (ie. later betas, retail).
Since this is sorta the same topic I hope it's ok if I post this question here instead of just creating a new thread. Like a few above me I just preordered recently, missing Beta 2. It happens, I should have been paying more attention. But since it's currently closed do I need to do anything special to get a beta key for 3 (besides pre-ordering of course) when it opens or does Stardock just blast out keys to all the pre-orders?
Thanks for any response and really looking forward to this!
You don't need to do anything special. As long as you've preordered, when Beta 3 rolls out they'll feed their hamsters appropriate amounts of crack to be able to run the wheels fast enough to power the pre-order processing computers and they'll just empty the preorder queue which automatically sends out emails and registers the games for everyone who pre-ordered.
