Issues with objectdock past and present

For starter , I have been usinig object dock 1.9 for several years, I have reported problems several YEARS ago, that are STILL not fixed even in version 2.0.

these problems are all related to a destop with multiple monitors, 3 to be exact.

summary:

Unfixed old problems:

 1: the animated tollbar does not work correctly on ANY monitor edge that crosses or is adjacent too another monitor and auto hide is enabled.

 when it hides, it just shows up on the adjacent monitor, but it is not resonsive to mouse clicks there . it actually should not be visable at all.

 2: when the bar is put on an edge of an adjacent monotor that is opposite a crossing edge, the seperator bars from the toolbar get stuck on the OTHER monitor.

 example. main monitor on left, second montor on right, attach the bar to right edge of second monitor and the seperator bars are always on the right edge of the main monitor. also they are always visable even if bar is hidden, also seperators are not on the bar itself at any time in ths configuration.

3: tabbed type bars  somtimes move randomly to another monitors edge, but only at startup, but good news , tabbed bars have no visual anomlies across edges.

New problem found ONLY on version 2.0:

I cannot locate/move the animated bars onto the second of 3 monitor , when I select monitor 2, it ALWAYS goes to monitor 3 instead and the check is next to monitor 3 when i go back to setting. it is like monitor 2 is forbidden, only 1 and 3 are allowed to be used.

my 3 monitor config is one to the right and one above the main monitor.

NOTE: this problems DOES NOT exist in 1.9 and I can uses 1.9 to correctly set the location, and then when I restart 2.0 , it is on the correct monitor, I just cannot put it there using 2.0.

I'm getting one of the exact same issues as you are;

I also have three monitors, and when I try to make a dock go to the 2nd monitor, it always goes to the 3rd one.

The only way I've been able to get it to the right monitor is to set Monitor 2 as the Primary Monitor, then assign the dock to Primary Monitor, then switch that monitor back to Monitor 2.

For some reason, upon restarting after having done that, all of my docks were gone. Not sure if it's because of the way I "tricked" it into putting the dock on the correct monitor, but for some reason after restarting my docks vanished. <_<

I'm thinking I'm just going to use 1.9 so it will work with my monitors, at least until this gets fixed.

I just got an update to obljectdock ... it is september and I would think on a beta release product, they would come more often then every 4+ months, silly me.

Guess what, NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM THAT I REPORTED has been fixed.

so when will they EVER FIX anything. most of these problems are around FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND ACROSS VERSIONS.

I like the dock but because of all the unfixed bugs, I cannot come even close to using it at is potential.

P.S. I reported theses visual bugs years ago in a problems ticket.

It seems there customer support model is to give zero responses to lagitimate problems in the code they write.

yet thy spend lots of time fixing and updating the advertising engine {inpulse} which is just plain obnoxious piece of code.

NOTE: On the can't put the dock on the correct monitor issue, I found a way around it. shutdown the dock and manually edit the ini file.

to get to it, select configure object docks, troubleshooting options, open my objectdock settings folder so i can backup my settings.

Kill or shutdown objectdock.

then edit the "currentTheme.ini" file. the two relevent fields are

DockPosition=  { where 1 is top, 2 is left, 3 is right and 4 is bottom}

LastMonitor=\\.\Display1       the number at the end is the display number you actually want to put it on.

restart object dock.

I tried this, for mine specifically i dont have a currentTheme.ini, i have a DefaultCurrentTheme.ini

When i make the change to this its as if nothing happened, it would appear that my Object Dock is getting its settings from else where, tried uninstalling and reinstalling to maybe address this, nothing. No clue why i cant edit the settings for this or get it on my third monitor
