Desktop Windows Manager

I just installed Dreamscapes 3, am using Windows 7.
When I try to apply a Dreamscape animated background I get a dialog which states:

"The Desktop Windows Manager does not seems to be active at this time on your machine.
Applying the Windows Aero theme or any WindowsBlinds theme (if WindowsBlinds is installed),
should enable the DWM if your machine is capable of running it."

Though I have installed WindowsBlinds 7 and applied various themes, I still get the message when trying to apply an animated Desktop background.
The machine specs are more than suffient to run any software, so what might be the restriction?

Thanks

By checking your Windows Experience Index (running it) you should enable it, and then be able to use Deskscapes.  ;)

Also check and make sure that the Desktop Window Manager Sessions Manager service is running on your system.  This is done through Windows services.

I have a problem lately. Sometimes (often) when I minimize windows and/or switch back and forth between them, I'll get a big black square in the middle of my primary screen that won't go away even with an F5 refresh. There are no dialogue boxes indicated and the only way to get it to go away is to end the dwn (desktop windows manager) process. I have to do that twice and then the black box goes away. Problem is, that so does my WindowBlinds skin. I'm currently using Aero Brushed Metal. Haven't tried it with any other skins yet.

What to do?
