screen resolution

to change from current level

cant any one help me out on the problem i face to change the screen resolution.

i am in win xp and using 17" samsung monitor and i cant change the resolution from 800 * 600 to higher level and i tried to do it with the floppy given along with the monitor but it still remains so. I have the VIA/S3G UNICHROME PRO IGP Adapter. kindly resolve it
