Winamp 5? How come I never get the WinAmp 4? I only have WinAmp 3?

Can someone give me a direct link to latest release on WinAmp 4?

Actually, if you find it, please send the url to me to Blueflame06@tmail.com

winamo 5 = winamp 2+3. There wasnt a 4, but 5 takes the speed of 2 and lets you use the skinning capabilities of 3

Winamp 3 stunk pretty badly. This should be really nice, because Winamp 2 was really good. Using it now, actually. Can't wait 'till the final release.

im using winamp 5 right now..its pretty good..the thing i like about it so far is that...it combines winamp 3 and 2..so that means you can have both winamp 2 and 3 skins for it..so that makes things a lil better

more good news: the sysmetrix and dx controls for wa2 seem to work with wa5

So do the Winamp commans from Keyboard Launchpad. This is nice. And I acutally like the "Winamp Modern" default skin. Plus the fact that it nicely uses both WSZ and WAL skin files is good.

Hi,

I'm very happy with version 5. It is working fast and good!

Internet-radio and tv, also very nice

Looks good so far. It'll be nice to do my playing and ripping with one program.

I'm using the beta - working great here (I had problems with the previously released alpha. I think this will be a nice version

Sonique 2 all the way! Even though this new WA5 is better than WA3, I feel that the potential in Sq2, despite the fact that it is in alpha, will make a real dent once again!

Well it's nice, but it's still really pokey and often unresponsive on my computer. It often takes a second or so to resond to a mouse click, and often has large pauses between tracks (often seeing repaint issues on its GUI during these pauses).

Yet, Winamp2, WMP9, and QCD are all relatively snappy on this computer.

What's up with their website? It looks like winamp.com hasn't been updated in a few months (or longer); I went there expecting to see some kind of news about version 5, but there's nothing there except 2 and 3. They don't even have any announcements from when they decided to stop development on version 3. Have they moved to a different site, or what?

Well the installer has a load of stuff about accepting some betatesting agreement, so I suppose it's been leaked from somewhere, which would probably explain why there's nothing on the site.

I do find it surprising that they still focus on 3 so much. Although I guess to switch and focus on 2 until 5 becomes reality wouldn't make sense either. It could be that since 3 went so bad they are taking it slowly introducing 5. Still you'd think some mention would be there on the site.

After a few days of using Winamp 5 I am very happy with it. I have had no problems at all. It interfaces with Sysmetrix and WB skins that have controls on them. And the best part you can use Winamp 2 and Winamp 3 skins. So if you couldn't use Winamp 3 now you can use the skins.
