GC2 or Sins of a solar empire?

Hi!

I like playing GC2 (UE) and other, similar games like civilization 4 (only offline). I recently tried the SoaSE-demo and tried it just because I read some fine reviews. Well, at least in the demo I could not find anything revolutionary that I allways wanted to have in GC2. Am I wrong or is it "just another" 4x game, only in real time? In other words: is it worth 10€ (and loads of time) when I already have civ4 and gc2?

:-) Werner

PS: I know that I am asking for personal flavor an that beauty (or whatever) is to be found in the eye of the beholder.

soase is much more of a RTS than a 4x... so, while it has a few similarities to GC2 and Civ4... its more like... CnC or Homeworld.  I personally have gotten rediculous quantities of play hours out of Sins of a Solar Empire, definately in my personal top 3 of hours played on a game, if not first.

I highly suggust getting sins (just make sure to get the whole package... trinity... it feels so much more complete than vanilla, and even more worth it.)

Did you actually read the reviews or did you just look at the scores? If you actually read them you should have some idea of what features Sins has and whether you would be interested or not. As you did not specify which features these might be, I really can't tell you if they are there or not. Personally Sins has been one of my favorite video games in recent memory, but you don't have to take my word for it. Read the opinion of one of the Galactic Civilizations developers.

Is it worth it?

well I too have both Civ4 and GC2, and I say yes, it is worth it, plays differently then the other two and is a nice break
