Change Game speed in MP?

Is there any mods that let us do this? me and my friends all have high end gaming machines and we own sins, in SP we play at 2x-4x speed and in MP we're capped at 1x... and games just take way too long.

 

Is there any mods that let us adjust this? (preferably when hosting?)

 

If not, where should i be posting to ask for it to be included in a patch?

Something like supreme commander has should be good, where you could specify a game speed at launch, or 'adjustable' to let the host control it in-game (i suggest capping at 4x, few systems can handle that late game - and a fast host could lag out other players for a competitive edge)

Are you asking whether or not you can set a fast speed before the game starts?  Yes you can, at the game setup screen.

He means adjusting speed like you can in singleplayer games, were you press plus and minus to increase/decrease speed up to 8x.

No, you can't do this.  It's one of the major feature requests that never made it into any of the expansions (personally I'd have liked a 1.5x speed)

The fastest you can get it is the Faster speed on Diplomacy.  Later on in the game, though, it really doesn't matter what speed you have it set on above the fast speed because eventually there will be so many ships running around that the game will slow down anyway.

Thats my point, it doesnt get so bad on high end systems.

 

2x speed runs fine until very late game for me and my friends - and that could save us 2 hours of gameplay on huge maps.

 

as said above, a 1.5x speed would work really well.

I'd like to try the Optimization mod, but I'm afraid that having it enabled would prevent me from joining other people's games on ICO.
