Force enable Aero on OLDER GeForce 2 gfx card? (V7700)

Greetings,

a friend told me about WindowBlinds. Looks great, however it does not work with my old (replacement) gfx card...

From the beginning. I was always using my trusty ASUS V9520TD (FX5200) but now it seems to kick the bucket, making it a lottery game whether it will show the display on POST or whether it won't...
So I replaced it with my older V7700 and now you won't believe what you read...

This OLD card could do AERO on Windows 7! However, not until I had to reboot, then Win7 switched it off because the detection routines seemed to have come into effect, detecting that I had replaced my card B)

But that incident tells me that it might even be possible to have AERO on such an old card, it's just forcibly switched off to make you buy new hardware (as usual).

To cut it short, however, WindowBlinds could NOT enable Aero on my card. I feel it's because WB uses some of the MS API, which will return a FALSE if it "considers" my gfx card not to be able to run Aero.

Is there a sort of "experimental mode" in WB with which I can "force enable" Aero?

I'm on Windows 7.

Check to see if DWM is running... you may need to enable DWM and that may fix the prob.   I've had similar issues with newer cards...

Update your Windows Experience score by re-running the test. If it scores higher than a 2, you can run Aero.

Make sure your video card drivers are up to date.  Sometimes, the default drivers that Windows loads don't detect well in a lot of programs, and the ones straight from nvidia sometimes have better luck.
