http://www.hoverdesk.net
Hover Inc. is excited to announce availability of the 3.0 HoverDesk beta for registered HoverDesk users and users who are still in their 30 day trial period. Hoverdesk 3.0 brings loads of new display options that bring much of Windows XP's "eyecandy" to Windows 2000 users. New options include fully alpha blended icons/PNG tiles that can zoom, spin, have color effects and even be animated! Soft dropshadows abound with enhancements to many core features and plug-ins. We've created two new often requested plugins for a desktop Calendar and an Analog Clock. New taskbar display options and pop-up menu options and the new Window Shade feature are included with a host of code changes to improve performance. HoverDesk 3.0 MAJOR CHANGES : -XP 32 bits icons / PNG file support. Note: If a PNG file and a .ICO file are set for an object, then only the PNG file will be displayed - Windows 2000/XP only -Zoomer Objects with optional visual effects (recolor, rotation, alpha blending, dir/drive size content display) - Windows 2000/XP only -Bitstrip animation support (PNG files). OK does anyone use Hoverdesk? Or is it that the reason there no Hoverdesk Library here? Or is it because it would take away from DesktopX? I bought it a long time ago but have never really gotten into using it. Maybe this new version will get me to start using it again.

scottr, yes there are plenty of Hoverdesk users lurking around! WinCusto doesn't have a library for Hoverdesk because it's "rivaling" DesktopX (which imo is just plain silly) but hey, there are still plenty of other sites hosting Hoverdesk themes

Thib/Russ, thank you for finally releaseing this fab new HvD - it's going to be really fun makeing new themes with all these new features/options/plugins!!

From memory I think one of the primary reasons that there were lots of good Hoverdesk sites and that there was no real need for duplicating what existed elsewhere.

I don't think it helps or there is any sense in looking for ulterior motives as to why there are/aren't certain libraries!

Not having a section here has little to do with Hoverdesk "rivaling" anything (otherwise we wouldn't have Nextstart and Litestep).

OK, sorry about that then, Brad. I just seem to recall that it was mentioned in a msgboard thread some time ago that, that was one of the reasons - my bad
(I see that jark sneaked in to do some shameless spamming.....)

Let me sneak something back at Jark http://www.skinbase.org/section.php?sections=hoverdesk

Heh, I recall that thread Snow.
I seem to also remember some fella called 'Hippy' shooting his mouth off like an ignorant fool.
Wonder what happened to him........

scottr.. yes there are a few of us, quite a few in fact, using HVD. Fire it up again and give it a shot. Pretty amazing application. Thanks to the boys at HVD for releasing this new version. Looks like some late nights again. Frogboy, what does not having a HVD section here have to do with? Sorry I missed the thread.

Hmm, hadn't installed it for 6 months or so, although registered. Makes want to fire it up it again.

Wet Monkey, back then it was becuase HvD was reletively new, so there wasn't a big enough userbase to warrant a section here.
Although now it's got hundreds of users. *hint hint*

/me cracks the whip at c242

(jafo)relatively(/jafo) Hippy... tsk stk....

I downloaded it and gave it a shot. I think that the last time I tried it was at 1.x something or another, because it's dramatically faster, more capable, and seems to be very stable.

@ Hippy - try thousands not hundreds

c242 goes hiding...
Tried it and liked it. Now I have a problem...
But one suggestion to the makers : It is really hard for newbies to figure out how to make a new object on the desktop. Considering myself a little more advanced now, I had to ask manni how to do that...

Koasati huggles his HvD.........

Randy, does yours huggle back? Mine doesn't, but maybe it's because it's an unregistered beta...

Is is true that the beta isn't ready yet for WIN98se? Nothing changes for me.
