Icon edit error, Explorer's split view renders only default icon

I've found these same issues on multiple computers (same WinXP-SP3, different hardware).
I'm slowly getting responses from Stardock support (Ticket submited 3/26/2010).
Since the resolution will help other users with the same issue, I'm posting it as it comes in from Stardock.

Icon Packager/Developer Issues (IP Version 5.00, ID Version 2.12):

1. Icon Editing Error - Opening icon from IP into ID fails with error.

4/9/10 MY UPDATE: It happens with all themes I've downloaded (ThePreface.ip for example), but the Junior icons DO open correctly in ID.

4/13/10 STARDOCK RESPONSE - Curt Hendzell: I was able to reproduce an issue with the same package here. Most likely it is specific to this package. No resolution Offered.

MY UPDATE 4/14/10: Ok. Too bad we don't know the problem.

2. "Folders" Split View Icon - Some icons don't change like they should. For example, Explorer's split "folders" view icon is stil default.

4/9/10 MY UPDATE: So are you saying I won't be able to theme the Split View icon?
Also, none of the icons on the taskbar (bottom of screen) obtain the iconpackage, nor do any of the top left window icons.

4/13/10 STARDOCK RESPONSE - Curt Hendzell: Unfortunately this is correct. There are simply some image assets in Windows we do not have access to.

MY UPDATE 4/14/10: I guess I misunderstood IP's feature description. I bought IP to replace ALL the icons. Too bad.

All of these hidden...as they contain SD support email info...that is personal to the customer.

Yep.

Why isn't Stardock interested in a solution?

I have had IP issue opening with ID, no rhyme or reason, but not very often. I think it may be due to IP be made on a Windows non-english OS.
