Cities XL

Needed Info

How you doing guys, Im new to the site/forum. Sorry if the info i am requesting sounds dumb or anything in that nature. Anyway, I bought the pc game Cites XL for my laptop. I downloaded the game and everything seem to go fine. After everything was installed, I click play and I recieved a msg that indicated. I should check for online solutons or simply close the program.

My laptop is a HP Pavillion notebook (Vista). 64x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 1.80 GHz, 959 MB, 32-bit.

What shall I do to play this game? Because I spent $45 on this game and I can't get it to play.

Thanks Guys

Hi there!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but you should not buy a game like that for $45. I have read about this game and it fails in may areas. It was going to be some sort of community game where you traded online with other users and such. It all failed, and I believe that the mulitiplayer part is shut down.

I strongly suggest to research a game before buying. May I reccomend Kings Bounty Armored Princess for you? Its great value and fun!

I'm guessing that you bought Cities XL via impulse? Anyway, these forums are probably not the best place to look for troubleshooting/tech support for Cities XL. I'd suggest trying a Cities XL specific forum (google should work for finding some), or contacting impulse support directly if you can't find any answers. Good luck

Regardless if the game is actually worth $45 dollars, you definitely need to check the minimum system requirments before purchasing a game.

In this case, your laptop is no where near powerful enough to run the program.

CitiesXL was closing down their servers the last I heard.

Joasoze Link is not surprising. And the first reply tot he topic says it all: "People don't want to pay subscriptions for an unfinished game? What a surprise!" Indeed Cities XL was largely incomplete. It had no iner-city mass transit system for one thing amoung others. Plus you needed to pay more money to get more bonus features and teh online subcription was high for what it provided. That game had stacked teh cards againts it's self and the result was predictable.

Cities Xl yanked their servers and already pulled their forums. They had so many complaints and feedback they didn't want to listen to that they shut down the forums before the launch. Anyway, you could try Simtropolis. There are supporters found there and even some info about what MC is doing these days, now that they shutdown a game a lot of the beta testers flat out told them wouldn't float.
