Cannot have Taskbar AND SysTray on same dock...

Why not permit a REAL TBar replacement that offers your functionality Oh, AND how about adding a DIGITAL CLOCK

Everytime I setup a new computer I make the very same toolbars.  Until Vista I was able to tear off taskbar menus and relocate them.  Just another example of MS deciding how we SHOULD use our PCs...

Anyway, I am not happy at all that V2 fails to permit both Taskbar AND Systray - just like we are used to seeing it.  It is one thing to offer them as seperate bar entries, but it is another to make it impossible to marry the two in their usual configuration.

I WANT to do this:

<START>|<My own shortcuts menu>|Taskbar Windows|SysTray

While we are on the topic of SysTray... How about a freaking Digital Clock?!  I found three listings for them, only two had actual downloads available, the ".NET Digital Clock" crashes the program no matter how you try and set it up (does no one check this sort of thing?).  The one that works is, necessarilly, forced to fit into a square icon space and is VERY hard to read when I set the dock to the desired size...

It would also be nice if the bars positioned at TOP or Bottom offered an option to fully dock across the screen.

OPTIONS people, not LIMITATIONS -- you are not Microsoft after all...are you?

That's do-able.  I've had it that way for 'weeks'...;)

As for a clock download crashing....the ObjectDock 2 is new....the clock willhave been an old upload [for 'old' read - not win7/64bit etc/whatever]

When I use the Settings dialog, I turn on the taskbar... and the systray shuts off.  Vice Versa is also occuring...  Is there a setting that I am missing, perhaps?

Ahh I see. I suspect he wants to do it on a single dock not tabbed. From what I can see, I cant add a systray either if a start menu is on a non tabbed dock. Actually Im not seeing anyway anymore to add a systray. I know it did cause it was the first thing I tried. A systray and a start menu. Both worked before, but now i just have no option for a systray that i can see.

On the Home Tab click on the dock you want add the systray to and the click on On My Dock and there is a option on the bottom to enable Taskbar/Systray but, you can only have one or the other on a zoomer

That, of course is what I was talking about...  I do not want to use a tabbed dock as a Taskbar alternative but rather have the icons all available at one time -- which brings me to a second point; the systray does not naturally update when a new item is loaded to the tray.  If I start a tool that minimizes to the tray I am forced to manually configure the dock to show it.  This is not a preferable method.

Perhaps the 'TYPE' of ObjectDock needs to be considered... How about offering a taskbar dock that includes, with options to exclude, the Start, open window region and the systray with a digital clock (of course).  Then permit us to add docklets or shortcut areas (with all the trimmings like menu and fly-outs?

This is, I think, not so large a task since Stardock has already implemented all the functions already.  The whole point here is to have end user options rather than predefined methods of use according to limiting notion of developer expectation of usability.

Nope, we aren't. We are a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, though! By creating customization software we are trying to give users more options with how their computer looks and works. I have documented both the digital clock idea and the ability to have both system tray and open windows displayed on the same dock, and will forward this to Jeff (the developer).

easily done by having 2 zoomer docks side by side....one with the taskbar and the other with the systray....which is how I do it so I can set the systray icons to 20 with no effects and leave the taskbar icons at 64 with effects

Neither of those will be new ideas to Jeff.... people have been asking for these options since ObjectDock v1, was released. ;)
