Windows 7 64 bit explorer crashes with Fences

Explorer Crashes

I'm also have the same problem. When I save, create, rename a file on the desktop, Windows Explorer crashes and starts up again. I have Windows 7, 64 bit build 7600. Velocity I7 system 12GB memory.  Running fences pro v.1.00.4263.

Explorer also has to restart several times during bootup.  I'm not running any other desktop organizers.

Love the program if I caan get it to work

i second that.. very disappointing i had to delete the program right after purchasing it.

To try and resolve this issue, try verifying the application through Impulse.  To verify the application through Impulse:

-Launch Impulse.  Right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify Installation"
-Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application.  You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application.
-If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse.  This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechanism to replace corrupted files.
-Once the update completes, reboot your PC.

I have tried the following with no luck:

  • disable firewall and anti-virus - run fences - crash
  • uninstall & reinstall fences pro through impulse - run fences - crash
  • verify installation with impulse - reboot - run fences - crash
  • remove all registry references - uninstall/reinstall - run fences - crash
  • reinstall video card drivers - run fences - crash
  • taskmanager - end process-tree for all open applications - disable aero - run fences - crash
  • msconfig - diagnostic startup (disabled all startup programs) - reboot - run fences - crash
  • msconfig - diagnostic startup (disabled all startup programs & all non-microsoft services) - reboot - run fences - crash
  • disable all visual effects under system properties/advanced/performance options - run fences - crash
  • attempted to disable Data Execution Prevention for fences.exe but windows would not allow would not allow it.
  • load optimized defaults in bios - run windows memory diagnostic - restart computer to check for problems - no problems found - run fences - crash

When first starting fences, it will crash explorer but once restarted it will run just fine until I save something to the desktop or rename an icon.

I don't get this error in any other application and I cannot think of anything else to do other than a format & reinstall of windows. Been trying to resolve this for months. Any other advice is appreciated.

I found out what was causing the problem.

Somehow the administrator permissions were changed. Here is how to fix it.

 

 

1. First go into fences.. click more tools..

 

2. Un-check enable fences.. click yes at the prompt

 

3. Right click on fences program and click properties..

 

4. Click on security tab.. then click edit..

 

 

5. Click on each group/username and click the allow check-box under full control

 

 

6. Restart fences and you should be golden.

Jus kill the "explorer.exe" and start back again.. wolaaa it works fine then.

Something is definitely causing it to hang wen its first time start-up.

All mentioned here didn't help. I like the app, but the bad thing it's not working. But, the good thing - you have try it free feature, ty for that! Gonna try VeBest Icon Groups now
